Larry M. Carroll CPA/CFF
Larry graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1976 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, majoring in Accounting and Management Information Systems. He has worked for national firms as well as local firms, where he first became a partner. From the outset of his career, Larry specialized in closely-held businesses, addressing accounting and tax issues, including planning and compliance. He served as Tax partner and Litigation Support partner in several regional accounting firms prior to his opening his solo practice in 1989.
Since 1983, Larry has been active in litigation support services including business valuation and investigative (forensic) accounting. Initially, he performed business valuations and forensic accounting engagements. He has testified as an expert in Federal and County courts in Pennsylvania. Since 2005, he has limited his litigation support practice to forensic accounting, obtaining certification as Certified in Financial Forensics, become a Fellow of the American College of Forensic Accountants, and a Forensic CPA. He specializes in matrimonial law, but has been engaged in minority shareholder suits and trust accounting issues.
In 2001, Larry joined with a fellow alum from Touche Ross & Co. (now Deloitte & Touche), John F. Endres, CPA, MST, to form a money management firm, Paragon Capital Advisors, LLC. The fee-based asset management services are offered to clients and the general public. The philosophy of Paragon is to match each client with their own risk tolerance and financial goals. Paragon is a Registered Investment Advisor licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Larry is a member of the Tax Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Forensic and Valuation Services Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) , the American College of Forensic Accountants, and the Forensic CPA Society.
When not working, Larry concentrates his efforts on ritual observance at his synagogue, Temple Beth Am Israel in Penn Valley. He also raises funds for research to cure Juvenile Diabetes and Multiple Sclerosis.
